Description
This was a commission from my brother-in-law as a Christmas gift for his mother. His mom is part Native American and loves Native American art/decor. I got this gourd already sanded, stained, and polished as a gift from another artist but I decided it would be good to use.
The motif is a thunderbird rising from the growing lightning storm at the bottom of the gourd. The gourd is accented with wood beads on imitation sinew, a water buffalo tooth, and coyote fur.
The gourd was stuffed with yummy candies before being shipped off. I enjoyed this project though it was stressful amidst my other projects. But God blessed my time and I got everything else done on time too ^^.
