Rain is Coming by Draikairion Rain is Coming by Draikairion

Auma do you hear what I say
The rain is on it's way
Return our cattle home
Yaye the children
What is it that you think you do?
The rain is on it's way r
Return our cattle home.

~Kothbiro
Ayub Ogada

At last a REAL illustration of Kothbiro, my "Masaai" anthro wolf. I did a sculpture of this guy years ago but never drew him. Here he is! Ahhhh, this is my firt complete anthro picture on well over a YEAR! Geesh, this is my first anthro drawing at all in a year!!!!! Been so long!

I love this character as much as Hassan, my Sultan anthro wolf. I love putting anthros in cultural shoes that most people wouldn't expect. Most anthro wolves tend to be Native American and Celtic. I rebelled and said NO! I'm doing an African wolf! I think I'll do a Zulu wolf next? Takers?

Anyhoo, Kothbiro character copyright to Sarah Elder, Draikairion 2013. You may not use, copy, or redistribute with my prior, written permission. Thanks!

That is a basic tutorial on anthro paws/hands I did a few years ago.  It should at least help you get started ;)

I love this, especially the idea of making him Masai.  That got me to wondering which cultures have werewolf / shapeshifter myths.  I know German, Japanese, Malayan societies have these elements.  But never heard of African werewolf stories.  Very interesting.

Well I must say you discredit yourself too much! This drawing is (IMHO) Anthro defined completely. You've taken a very spiritualistic and already animal like character - the shaman/hunter and added such a powerful animal -the wolf, you've merged the two perfectly in my eyes.

I just really really love this!

I haven't seen anything like this from you in a while. It's nice to see you drawing again. I love that spear.

How you been? It's been like, a while since we said hi.

I'm starting to get into the African culture... It's so different and interesting!! I love seeing photographs of the tribes in Africa. :aww:

Go for it!! Go Zulu! :la:

I haven't done any kind of art lately... Been in a major slump. I think part of it is I can never come up with a pose I'm happy with or when I do refs, things never end up even. :/
