This beautiful little quetzal bird mask was inspired by the joy and life of the children of Colegio hope school in Guatemala who have become so dear to me though I have not met them personally. The quetzal is Guatemala's national bird and the currency is named after this little beauty.

This quetzal is adorned in MANY colors of paint where about seven different colors are on the head alone. Designed, tooled, sculpted and paint by me from my heart. The tail plumes are NOT real quetzal feathers (they are illegal to own and sell). These plumes are made of peacock sword feather that have been "stitched" together to form the long plume you see!

Half of the proceeds of this mask will go directly to supporting the awesome, selfless teachers of Colegio Hope so they can in turn continue serving the children of the impoverished community. Find out more here: www.friendsofguatemala.com
